Quilt-As-You-Go
Supply List:
Basic sewing supplies: sewing machine, walking foot, scissors, pins,
pencil, small ruler, small binder clips.
Thread to match your binding fabric: Aurifil, silk and 60 weight cotton all
work well for this project.
The book: Civil War Quilts by Pam Weeks and Don Beld. This is a must-
have book for all of you book collectors and history buffs.
Block Preparation:
You will need to bring at least two coordinating pieced, whole cloth OR
appliqued blocks (you can bring more). Size does not matter, your blocks
can be 12”, 9”, or even 6” blocks.
Please quilt your blocks (separately, like making two individual quilts)
before coming to class. This is not a machine-quilting class, so you can
hand-quilt or machine-quilt them.
Square them up to make sure they are both the same size after quilting.
Using coordinating fabric for binding, cut enough 1 ¼” strips to go around
both blocks. Do NOT bind them, we will finish them up in class.
