BERNINA Classroom Machines:  We Proudly Provide BERNINA 590E Sewing/Embroidery machines for use.
Supply lists will be sent via email or listed directly in class description.
Lunch break is about 20-30 minutes. You may bring lunch or a snack.  If you wish to leave for lunch, you have several choices close by: 
Yellow House Hotel - Bridge Inn - Andy Pepper's.
Class fee is due upon registration and is for class instruction only - supplies and patterns are extra, unless so stated.
If you are interested in using one of our BERNINA machines, please let us know when you register so we can reserve one for you.
Porter Service: For those who need assistance, we will carry your machine from your car to the classroom and back.
Cancellations: If you cancel your class 8 or more days prior to the beginning of class, a refund will be given. Any cancellations within 7 days of the class are non-refundable unless the class is cancelled due to weather conditions or minimum enrollment is not met. Classes begin at the scheduled time. Please arrive 15 minutes early to give yourself enough time to set up for class. In fairness to fellow classmates, please do not ask the instructor to "catch you up" during class time if you arrive late or miss a class. We also ask you to refrain from wearing perfume on your class day as many people are sensitive to fragrances. Thank you!
Levels:
*Beginner Class These classes are easy. They are geared to an individual who has little to no sewing experience. They require basic straight sewing, very few curves and very little in sewing equipment.
*Intermediate Class These classes are geared to the individual who has some very basic sewing skills and has a very basic understanding of sewing terms. They may be challenging to someone with no sewing experience.
*Advanced Class These classes are for the individual who has a good grasp on sewing, experience with patterns and sewing terms. They have a good supply of equipment and a basic understanding of how to use their equipment.

Flower Dance Machine Embroidery Class

Enter the world of Machine Embroidery Applique with this stunning multi-faceted project. Using a combination of traditional piecing and embroidery software applique you will create this unique quilt. In addition there will be discussions of color, fabric and stabilizers. The class includes five three hour classes and handouts. Patterns for the quilt and the thirteen projects such as pillows, table runners, place mats wall hangings and mug rugs are sold separately. You can attend either the Wednesday or the Saturday classes. Classes run from 12:30 ? 3:30.

Enjoy creating this trivet, embellished with elegant Dresden designs. This trivet looks sophisticated and intricate, but this traditional quilting pattern has been created for embroidery to be fun and effortless. You'll learn how to applique using your embroidery machine featuring two different techniques and two different stabilizers or 505 Adhesive spray. This project is compatible with any machine with an embroidery capability of 5.5" x 5.5"

You'll be using a block from our newest Block of the Month - Garden Party which features PRE-CUT PRE-FUSED shapes to get you to the sewing faster! Bring your own machine or use one of the classroom BERNINA 590's! $65 plus Garden Party kit and supplies Supply List: One kit from the Garden Party BOM Quilter?s Preview Paper (available at Ladyfingers) Identi-pen marker Sewing machine in good working order - if you would like to reserve a BERNINA 590 from Ladyfingers just let us know! Machine should have knee lift - also known as a free-hand system. Open toed embroidery foot for applique Bernina #20, 20C, or 20D. Can also use Foot 34, 34C, or 34D. If you are using one of Ladyfinger?s machines, a #20 will be supplied. You can bring thread to match your applique colors - but we will be discussing using different weights of threads for different stitches, so you can wait until class day to make your thread selections. Bobbin thread can be 50wt to match your background fabric. Bring some scraps to practice stitches. You can use some scraps from your kit but you will need to bring some fabric for background. Stablizer for the underside of the background fabric. Your block is 20 x 20. I recommend Totally Stable or Rinseaway. Both are available at Ladyfingers Size 80 and 90 Microtex needles. I'll be presenting three kinds of circles to you for your quilting pleasure. The first is String Fan Circle, paper pieced from multiple strips of fabric. The second is a Swirly Circle, which involves curved piecing, (don't be scared). The third is a Checkerboard Circle, paper pieced from constructed strip sets. All of these circles can be combined into one quilt or used separately.
