Antique Sampler With a Twist

Have fun making a 90” square quilt that covers a variety of quilt techniques . The sampler will cover needle turn appliqué, English paper piece, paper foundation and how to keep it all square. Fun to use up your stash of fabric or start fresh with a collection of Kaffe, Tula or Allison Glass. Black and white background,newspaper print or small graphics. Refresh your skills and learn some new ways to do things.

Gel Roller Pen - Silver
Frixion Pen - blue
John James Gold Appliqué Needles
Aurifil 80wt - lt. grey
Contrast thread for backgrounds
Basting thread - white
Straight Pins
3” Circle Template
Fabric Glue Stick
18 degree wedge ruler
12 1/2 square ruler optional

Background #1 (green and white). 3 1/4 yards
Background #2 (green with blue dots) 3 yards
Background #3 (blue strip) 1 1/4 yards
Several backgrounds for remaining squares
1/2 yard pieces of lots of fabric for appliqué and pieced sashing

If making a king size quilt you will need an extra 1 1/4 yard of each backgrounds #1 and #2.

12” block pattern of your choice. Mine came from Ultimate Quilt Block Collection by Lynne Goldsworthy.
