  • New Style vs. Old Style A Guide to BERNINA Feet & What Machines They Fit

Let's talk a little about the presser feet. The foot design changed with the development of automatic needle threading capabilities on machines. In addition, the stitch width increased from 4.5mm (ie-930s) to 5.5mm (ie-440s), and then from 5.5mm to 9mm (ie- most Artistas) generation of feet. "Old Style" feet have white stickers with black numbers on the shank. "New Style" feet have white stickers with red numbers on the shank. (There's also a generation of really old feet which have the numbers engraved on the shank.)
